The opportunity
GumGum enjoyed its best year in 2020 as more clients looked for alternatives to cookie-based targeting. Our contextual intelligence engine is privacy ready and future proof. With over a decade of experience in machine learning expertise, GumGum is uniquely positioned in the industry as the leader of contextual intelligence, with our contextual advertising far outperforming our competitors. We are experiencing double digit growth and believe that we can be a $1BN company in the next 2 to 3 years. We are very excited about the future and looking for a seasoned executive who can accelerate our growth, leading to an IPO or strategic acquisition. We are seeking a seasoned Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Reporting to the CEO Phil Schraeder, this executive will be responsible for telling the GumGum story and driving product marketing efforts that build brand equity and enterprise value. In this brand-new role, the CMO will serve as the strategic storyteller for GumGum and will communicate to a variety of constituents that include clients, reporters, analysts and investors. Our vision is nothing short of becoming the undisputed go-to partner for contextual advertising solutions globally.

Oversee marketing and branding efforts that educate marketers about the uniqueness and efficacy of the GumGum suite of products.
Ensure that all advertising and branding efforts integrate seamlessly with PR and event initiatives and reflect the vision, values and aesthetic sensibilities of GumGum. We are aiming to own 20% share of voice in the area of contextual advertising.

Differentiate GumGum from others by illustrating how our contextual intelligence Verity™ outperforms competitive solutions. According to a Dentsu independent study, we are the #1 provider of contextual intelligence solutions domestically.
Develop value propositions that are compelling, differentiated and validated to defined Total Available Market (TAM) segments and Ideal Client Profile (ICP). We have two businesses: media and data processing.
Lead global marketing and corporate communications team. Oversee a full team of marketers supporting revenue driving campaigns, operations and design. We currently have offices in the US, Canada, UK, Japan and are aiming to accelerate our global footprint in the next 12 months.
Represent GumGum at industry events and senior client meetings. In addition the CMO will speak on behalf of GumGum to reporters and industry analysts.

General Outlook
Interview Process:
Our recruiters will review every application received. If we find a profile that aligns with the position requirements, a recruiter will reach out to schedule an intro call. During the intro call, GumGum’s recruiters will share more on GumGum’s background, what’s trending and additional details about the job opportunity during the call. You can expect the intro calls to last about 30 minutes.
Meet with the Hiring Manager.
During the hiring manager interview, you can expect to learn more about the position, team and what a typical day looks like. Our hiring managers will ask questions to learn about your background, experience and interest. You can expect the interview with the hiring manager to last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
Meet with your Future Co-workers.
We’re excited you’ve made it this far! In this next round, you get to meet and interview with multiple GumGummers that would be on your team and that you’d collaborate with. You can expect to meet with one to four GumGummers and the interview can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
Showcase your Knowledge.
(Role dependant) We’d love to see your skills set in action! In this next round, GumGum will share a prompt to an assignment where you will be given 2-3 business days to work on and complete the assignment.
Getting Technical.
(Applicable to Tech positions only) Interviewing for one of our engineer positions? Following your interview with the hiring manager, get to meet with one to two Engineers. This next step will be a technical interview where you get to really show your technical knowledge. You can expect the technical interview to last anywhere from 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
Final Interview.
We’re so happy to have you come this far and are truly excited for your candidacy! The final interview stage varies by position. This next round can include a presentation and/or additional interviews with other GumGummers. You can expect this next round of interview(s) to last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
